Building Stability on the Water: A Custom Barge Delivery Story

Every marine construction project starts with a major logistical puzzle: how do you get heavy industrial machinery out onto the open water safely? Standard vessels just cannot handle the extreme point loads of heavy equipment like excavators. That was the exact challenge a client brought to our team at Warkentin Fabricating when they needed a heavy-duty floating platform for a demanding shoreline project.

Engineering the 30' x 40' x 4' Work Platform

To solve our client's unique site requirements, we turned to our versatile modular inventory. Instead of trying to transport a massive, single-piece structure, we designed a robust, multi-unit configuration. The solution came together by combining three WarFab IX-40 barges to form a massive, ultra-stable 30' x 40' x 4' work platform.

Watching the assembly come together on the water is always a testament to smart marine engineering. Once locked securely in place, the multi-barge system provided a rock-solid deck capable of effortlessly carrying a heavy Case excavator and all the necessary operational gear.

Your Project, Your Marine Solution

Not every job requires the exact same setup, which is why flexibility is crucial in marine work. Whether you are searching through options for barges for sale to grow your permanent fleet, looking for a temporary barge for rent to finish a short-term job, or need a completely tailored custom barge engineered for unique parameters, having the right partner makes all the difference.
